History and business highlights:
- In business and in Salem for almost 100 years!
- Delande Lighting is family-owned and operated... now in it's FIFTH generation
- Founded in 1918 by Ovila Delande and his son, Arthur W. Delande, Sr.
- The Delande Supply Company was originally a plumbing business which evolved
into converting gas fixtures to electric lights
- Original location: 1918-1955 Lafayette Street, downtown Salem
- Moved to current location: 1955-present at 22 New Derby Street, Salem
- Delande family owns what is now called the DELANDE LIGHTING BUILDING (which also has other small businesses who are tenants within it)
- Delande Lighting is a full-service lighting store, including a commercial and industrial side to the business
- Delande Lighting (retail division) works with many designers, architects, and electricians, as well as homeowners, of course.
- In addition to creative solutions for "homes" in the North Shore and Salem area, Delande also has a large ROSTER of LOCAL BUSINESSES in SALEM that they have designed and furnished with their lighting products (commercial appeal)
